Axial Balance

This is an example of axial balance because both sides of the picture has equal weight of the object. 

Asymmetrical

This is an example of asymmetrical because there is a deliberate imbalance and one side of the axis feels "heavier". 

Flat lighting

This is an example of flat lighting because  there is even front lighting of my cat and it produces little contrast and no shadows. 

Sign

This is an example of a symbolic sign because it has no logical connection to what it is supposed to represent, but it has a strong emotional response. This apple signifies Mac products. 

Figure Ground

This is an example of figure ground relationship because there is a relationship between the foreground and background. 

Chiaroscuro Lighting

This is an example of chiaroscuro lighting because the differences in shading and lighting are emphasized, there are strong lights, strong shadows, and it feels very emotional and powerful for a picture of apples.

Warm Colors

This is an example of warm colors because it has red-oranges and it gives the normally tranquil beach scene a harsh and moody feel.

Textural Gradient

This is an example of textural gradient because it gives the viewer a sense of depth because the desert ground has larger "tiles" of cracked ground and it recedes into the picture as it gets further away and eventually disappears.

Cool Colors

This is an example of cool colors because it is blue-greens, it has a calming effect, and it's soft and cheerful.

Apparent Movement

This is an example of apparent movement because it gives the illusion of stationary objects (the raindrops) moving. Because the raindrops are blurred lines as the go down to hit the ground, it gives the viewer a sense of movement.
